Georgia Police Search for Man Seen 'Intensely Interacting' With Rubber Duck Before Stealing Towels

The Chatham County Police Department in Georgia is searching for an unidentified man who trespassed onto a private residence on Whitefield Avenue on September 1, 2026 used the homeowner's pool and hot tub without permission, and stole more than $1,000 worth of beach towels before fleeing on a bicycle.

Surveillance footage reviewed by police shows the man entering the property sometime between 2:15 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. He is seen swimming in the pool before moving to the hot tub, where police say he spent more than ten minutes "intensely interacting" with a rubber duck belonging to the homeowners.

Before leaving the property, the man took beach towels valued at approximately $1,200, according to police. Investigators say he left the scene on a bicycle.

Chatham County police released images from the surveillance video and asked for the public's help identifying the man.

The department said it wants to identify the man before he repeats the behavior at another home. Anyone with information has been asked to contact Chatham County police or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers, where tips may qualify for a cash reward.

As of this writing, the man remains unidentified and no arrest has been made.
