A military-unit visit turned into an unexpected fitness display when Mongolian President Ukhnaa Khurelsukh took off his jacket and completed 20 bench-press repetitions with 100 kg.

Mongolian President Ukhnaa Khurelsukh had a different kind of demonstration in store during a recent visit to a military unit.
The 58 year old president removed his suit jacket, walked over to a bench press and lifted 100 kg for 20 repetitions. He was still wearing his shirt and tie while soldiers and officers watched nearby.
Video of the moment shows Khurelsukh completing the set before getting back on his feet. He then greeted people around him and put his jacket back on.
The footage was shared online on September 10 and soon began attracting attention. The unusual part was not simply the weight on the bar. It was the setting a serving president performing a full set during an official visit to a military facility.
Khurelsukh's military background adds some context to the scene. Before entering politics, he served in the Mongolian People's Army. He has also been associated with bodybuilding and martial arts.
He became president of Mongolia in 2021. Outside his political career, he has some less conventional interests too. According to NDTV - he plays guitar in a rock band called Pals and founded a Harley-Davidson fan club in Mongolia.
The original social-media post about the incident described the president as bench-pressing 100 kg for 20 repetitions. Reports from NDTV and other news organisations later carried the same details alongside the video.
For Khurelsukh, the moment was brief. There was no change of clothes or elaborate setup visible in the footage.
He simply took off his jacket, finished the exercise and returned to the rest of the visit.
